No Boat In The Bay: Manxman Sailings Cancelled
Just when you thought it was safe to go back on the water, forecast gale-force winds have put paid to this evening’s Steam Packet sailings.
We reported earlier today that this evening’s Manxman sailings to and from Heysham were at risk of disruption and now the ferry operator has confirm the 7.15pm sailing to Lancashire and the return journey at 2.30am will not go ahead.
Earlier today, Ronaldsway Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping that last until 5am on Tuesday.
The shipping forecast has the wind increasing to force 6 or 7 this afternoon and 7 or gale 8 this evening, but always a force or two lighter in Liverpool Bay and Morecambe Bay.
It is expected to ease in all waters tomorrow morning.
