Love Tech empowers our island’s Trailblazers
We spoke with the team at Love Tech about their partnership with Gef’s 30 Under 30 2024 Trailblazers Category.
What made you want to be involved in Gef’s 30 Under 30?
Gef’s celebration of young people making impact across various different fields aligns perfectly with Love Tech’s mission inspire minds, broaden horizons, and champion equal opportunities. Being part of this initiative allows us to further our commitment to empowering the next generation of change makers.
What company values do you have that align with Gef’s 30 Under 30 campaign?
Love Tech is guided by the values of ‘Inspire, Empower and Engage’. We believe that recognising and showcasing young disruptors, visionaries and achievers through Gef’s awards and media exposure not only inspires others but also demonstrates the potential within everyone to accomplish extraordinary things.
Why is the category you chose to sponsor so important to your company?
The Trailblazers category perfectly embodies the spirit of innovation, courage, and boundary-pushing that Love Tech seeks to instil in young people. We are thrilled to support Georgia, Luke, and Savannah, three outstanding individuals who exemplify the fearless pursuit of new frontiers that we strive to inspire through our initiatives.
What is your company doing to support young people on the island?
Love Tech runs a year round programme of events in schools and the wider community that provide children and adults opportunities to engage and experience Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and also to be inspired by what careers are possible in those fields. We also provide a platform to elevate the profile of women working in these fields in the Isle of Man so as to provide crucial role models for boys and girls.
Did you go to Gef’s 30 Under 30 Winner’s Party and if so, what did you think of this event?
Yes, several of our committee attended the party which was a joyous celebration of our inspiring young people. We very much enjoyed meeting some of them and several have joined Love Tech as volunteers or mentors. The event was a wonderful reminder of the talent and passion that exists in our community.
What stood out to you most about the winners in your category?
Georgia Foxton’s contribution to fairness and equality, Luke Wilson’s refusal to accept perceived limitations and Savannah Gunnalls’s approach to continuous learning are qualities that resonate deeply with the Love Tech mission. All three have demonstrated a fearlessness that we admire so much and aim to nurture in young people through our Love Tech activities.
