Opinion: Great TT Content… Questionable Editing Choices
Right then. We’re only SEVEN DAYS away from TT 2026 and if you’re somehow still not in the mood yet, firstly, what’s wrong with you?
Secondly, go and watch the new ‘TT Explained’ videos on the official Isle of Man TT YouTube channel because, genuinely, they’re very good.
Before you continue, if you haven’t watched any of them, follow this link to the YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/c/TTRacesOfficial
So far they’ve released explainers on the Mountain Course itself and the different bike classes and, production-wise, it’s probably some of the slickest TT content we’ve seen in years.
The course video especially does an excellent job of explaining why our little rock in the Irish Sea hosts the greatest motorsport event on Earth. It’s fast, dramatic, informative and actually accessible for newcomers who maybe don’t know their Braddan Bridge from their bottom of Barregarrow.
And the ‘Beyond the Paddock’ content? Brilliant. More of that please.
Hearing riders talk about their backgrounds to the loveable Chris Pritchard, their sacrifices and what the TT means to them adds so much depth to the event.

BUT.
And this is a big but.
What in the name of Joey Dunlop is going on with the editing?
Every seven seconds there’s another gigantic FLASH. BANG. STATIC NOISE. SCREEN SHAKE. RANDOM GRAPHIC FLYING DIRECTLY INTO MY RETINAS.
Honestly, one or two dramatic transitions? Fine. Lovely. Cinematic.
But by the middle of the course explainer I genuinely felt like I was being interrogated by the Isle of Man Constabulary while trying to learn more about the Verandah.

The videos are explaining one of the most dangerous and visually spectacular sporting events on the planet. You don’t need to edit it like a Transformers trailer made by someone who’s just discovered Adobe After Effects.
And in the classes explainer video, surely sticking rider names next to lap records would’ve helped? Casual fans aren’t automatically going to know who holds every record in every category. It feels like an obvious addition.
Still, griping aside, this is exactly the sort of quality content the TT should be producing.
It feels modern. It feels ambitious. And with the upcoming Hollywood TT film bringing even more international attention to the event, now is the perfect time to hook new fans in.
Plus, anything that gets people excited about TT before the roads close and your uncle starts pretending he’s John McGuinness on Richmond Hill is a win in my book.
Only a few days to go now folks. See you in Bushy’s.
Enjoy it, flashing graphics and all.
