Batten Down The Hatches!

Time to batten down the hatches!

The Met Office at Ronaldsway has issued a yellow weather warning for coastal areas in the island.

The alert is for coastal overtopping and lasts from 11pm tonight (Tuesday) until 3am on Wednesday.

And the predicted bad weather means that the Steam Packet has had to cancel tonight’s planned Manxman sailing to Heysham as well as the return journey during the early hours.

The Met Office says that coastal areas likely to be affected by the weather warning include parts of Douglas promenade as well as Shore Rd Rushen, Castletown prom, Laxey prom and Ramsey prom.

So, if you’re planning on being out and about tonight, be prepared for some strong winds developing this evening.
