Cars & Cappuccinos? Garage Plans to Open Cafe

Athol Garage in Ballasalla has revealed plans to swap some of its showroom space for a new café and hot food takeaway.

Because why just buy a car when you could grab a flat white at the same time?

The long-standing family-run garage, which has been keeping Manx motors running since 1945, has submitted a planning application to make part of its Balthane Industrial Estate showroom into a café.

If approved, customers could soon be sipping lattes while waiting for a service.

Athol Garage took to social media to share the news, calling the plans ‘exciting’ and promising a ‘welcoming new café’ to improve the experience for customers and visitors.

The café will be run by Danny and Max, described as friends of the garage, who will apparently bring plenty of expertise and passion to the venture.

The proposal is currently under review, with a consultation set for April 23.

In the meantime, Athol Garage is encouraging people to keep an eye on their social media for updates – and maybe start thinking about what kind of cake pairs best with a car service.
