Some sad news to bring you this evening.

Gaia Coffee and Food To Go on Lord Street has announced it will be closing for good this Saturday (November 8).

In a heartfelt post on Facebook, the team wrote: ‘The time has arrived.

‘Dear friends and customers of Gaia – Coffee and Food To Go,

‘We regret to inform you that this is our last week of operation, with our final day being Saturday, November 8th.’

Despite ‘significant interest in taking over the business’, Gaia said no agreement was reached with potential buyers.

The team also urged anyone with gift vouchers to pop in before the doors close, or they’ll arrange a refund for any unused balance.

Gaia first opened in summer 2024, offering plant-based hot drinks, sandwiches, cakes, and their signature ‘superfood lattes’.

But after months of searching for someone to take the reins, and despite the community’s loyal support — it’s time to say farewell.

‘Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey,’ the team added. ‘We’ll miss you all.’

So, if you’ve been meaning to grab one last oat flat white or turmeric latte, this is your week to do it.
