Creamery Hits 50 Million Milk Milestone
The Isle of Man Creamery is celebrating a moo-sive (sorry) milestone after its milk carton machine officially passed 50 million units.
The machine, installed back in 2015, was brought in as part of the Creamery’s mission to ditch traditional plastic milk bottles and switch to greener packaging.
The move, the Creamery say, made them the first dairy anywhere in the British Isles to use fully bio-based cartons, with even the plastic bits made from renewable sugar cane.
Fast forward to today and the Creamery now offers five different carton sizes, plus its own island-wide recycling scheme.
Islanders can recycle milk cartons, and any other type of carton, for free at Civic Amenity Sites, or via a small subscription through the Creamery Club or Recycle Collect Limited.
Sharing the news last week, the Creamery thanked its loyal customers for helping them hit the 50-million mark, signing off with a promise: ‘We’ll see you for 100 million!’
