Dandara Staff Trained as Suicide Prevention Gatekeepers

Published

on

Some of the team at Dandara have taken part in specialist suicide-prevention training this week, recognising the importance of raising awareness and supporting their workforce’s wellbeing.

The session was delivered by Isle Stand Up to Suicide (ISUTS), the Manx charity founded by mental health professionals Paula Dunlop and Ali Vondy, who host training known as QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer.

The course takes just three hours to complete but teaches skills that, as the charity says, ‘could last a lifetime’.

Marking International Men’s Day (today), the charity shared their thanks to the staff who took part. ISUTS said: ‘As we mark International Men’s Day we want to introduce the latest QPR gatekeepers that completed their training yesterday on site, with thanks to Dandara who recognise the importance of raising awareness for suicide within their workforce.

‘Paula and Grace were privileged to spend the few hours with these great guys.’

Anyone interested in taking part in QPR training can contact the charity directly at info@islestanduptosuicide.com.
