Deja Brew Rolls Back Into Action

Good news for caffeine lovers who’ve been wandering the island in a fog: Deja Brew is officially back.

After a brief but eventful disappearance, the mobile coffee business has confirmed it will be firing up the machine once again this weekend, following a saga involving a rebellious water pump, a poorly car and what can only be described as a faff.

Last month, owner Lucy was forced to temporarily close Deja Brew after the trailer’s water pump finally gave up the ghost, having ‘worked very hard’ for some time.

A repair was attempted to keep things going while a replacement was sourced, a move Lucy later admitted was ‘a silly thing to hope for’.

With the trailer in ‘safe hands’ and repairs underway, coffee fans were warned they might be without their Deja Brew fix for a week… or two. Or however long mechanical things feel like misbehaving.

During the downtime, Lucy kept customers caffeinated the best way possible, offering deliveries of whole bean, ground and decaf coffee, because needs must.

Fast forward a few challenging weeks and the update everyone’s been waiting for finally arrived: ‘We’re back!’

In a post shared on Friday, Lucy said the past few weeks had been tough, but confirmed the car has now been repaired, the water pump fixed, a new crystal replaced, and Deja Brew is once again ready to roll.

There was also a gentle reminder to motorists: don’t drink and drive, and if you do drive into someone, definitely don’t drive off, because it’s ‘absolute faff city for everyone involved’.

Deja Brew will be back serving coffee at Archallagan Plantation this weekend, with the following times:

  • Friday, February 7: 9am–3pm

  • Saturday, February 8: 10am–3pm

  • Sunday, February 9: 10am–3pm

Lucy thanked customers for their patience and support, adding simply: ‘See you soon.’
