Despite a lot of chatter locally about refits beginning early in the new year, Tesco says it hasn’t finalised plans for its newly purchased stores.
The shock sale of Shoprite to Tesco was announced last month, with local suppliers and the gov being caught off guard by the deal.
There has been significant chatter on the island that stores will begin closing for a refit early in the new year with Tesco apparently planning a phased approach to its plans.
However, a Tesco spokesperson said the dates haven’t yet been confirmed.
They said: ‘We’re are progressing with plans for opening our new stores on the Isle of Man. We will share these details with the local community as soon as we can.’
