Opening Hours Confirmed For Spoons

The Isle of Man’s first ever Wetherspoon pub is opening next week — and now we know exactly when you can grab your first cheap pint.

The Conister Arms, taking over the old 1886 Bar and Grill on Regent Street, opens its doors at 8am on Wednesday, May 14.

It’ll be open daily from 8am, closing at midnight Sunday to Thursday, and staying open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Food will be served until 11pm, and kids with adults are welcome until 10pm.

The four-storey Douglas pub, named after Conister Rock and the Tower of Refuge, has space for 725 people, full accessibility, outdoor seating, and a bit of local maritime flair.

It’s a £1.8 million franchise project led by local business operator James Thompson, who says the venue will offer affordable food and drink in a welcoming space — just in time for the TT.

All 1886 staff have been offered jobs, and 120 new roles have been created.

Wetherspoon says this one’s for the locals and the TT tourists alike — just don’t expect it to be quiet come Mad Sunday.
