Sun goes down on Moonlight
Douglas nightspot Moonlight is to shut this weekend.
The Loch Promenade venue will close its doors tomorrow night (Friday), to make way for a new venture launching in September.
The closure does not affect the operation of owner’s Extra Fancy’s flagship venue Kiki Lounge, which is located next door.
A post on Moonlight Club’s Facebook page said: ‘A wise woman once said “here for a good time, not a long time”, and we believe that now is the time for a quick costume change, before things get stale, as they so often do…
‘When Moonlight first popped-up for TT 2022, we had only planned to be around for those two weeks. And here we are, a whole year (and a whole TT lol) later…. Which is a pretty long pop-up to be popped-up, even by our standards.
‘We’re genuinely overwhelmed by the love and positive feedback that we receive week on week, which is why, in all honesty, we have decided to keep Moonlight open as long as we have. You’ve certainly shown us that our island is in desperate need of an alternative, inclusive and Extra Fancy dance-floor.
‘Before we go, we did want to point out that it’s not all doom and gloom. Our big sister next door, Kiki Lounge, continues to grow from strength to strength and will continue to shake up the finest cocktails known to Mann, week in, week out.
‘We really hope to see as many of you as possible at tonight’s ‘Thank Fenella It’s Thursday’ finale, and Friday night’s cLoSiNg PaRtY.’
