Mhelliah

Hospice Isle of Man has received a cheque for almost £11,494 from the Railway Inn in Union Mills. The money was raised during a mhelliah held late last year.

CEO John Knight and Head of Income Generation, Vanessa Smith, went down to the Railway to meet with Tony, his wife Karen and Chloe from the head office, to do a cheque presentation to say a massive thank you to everyone involved and to hear about the event.

Zurich

Continuing the theme of giving, Zurich Isle of Man has presented Hospice, the Women’s Refuge Isle of Man and the Isle of Man Foodbank with donations after nominees from its staff.

The company said: ‘We were honoured to meet with Melanie Kermeen and Vicky Wilson from Hospice Isle of Man, Thelma Lomax from the Womens Refuge Isle of Man, and Madina Sharpe and Lucas Johnson from Isle of Man Foodbank as the winners of this year’s Charity Grant Awards.

‘Each year, our employees nominate and vote for the charities they would like to see us support throughout the coming year. We are very pleased to be able to help the organisations that are so important to our team and our community. We would also like to thank the Z Zurich Foundation for supporting our donations this year and our Charity & Community Committee for organising the awards.’
