Island To Turn Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

The Isle of Man will be turning pink tomorrow as the island comes together for Pink Day, also known as Isle of Woman Pink Day, in support of the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group.

From schools to workplaces, people are being encouraged to wear pink, raise funds, and show support for breast cancer services on the island.

All money raised stays local, helping fund equipment, patient care and the Breast Care Service at Noble’s Hospital.

In Douglas, Strand Street will go pink with live music from Rebecca Forrest, an appearance from Booby Bear, and plenty of pink-themed fun.

And for those visiting Noble’s, Manx Ices will be serving up a special Pink Whippy outside the new Cancer Unit opposite the hospital.

The event is part of ‘Pinktober’, a month-long campaign to raise awareness and celebrate the strength of those affected by breast cancer.

Since 2012, the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group has raised millions for the island’s health services, including funding the Manx Breast Unit and vital imaging equipment.

So tomorrow, throw on something pink, grab a Pink Whippy, and join in as the Isle of Man proudly turns rosy for a cause that touches so many lives.
