Ramsey Cracks Down on Dog Poo

Ramsey Town Commissioners have officially launched a new anti-dog fouling campaign, and they’ve got one clear message: it’s not the Dog Poo Fairy’s job.

The campaign, fronted by Deputy Chairman and Lead Member for Works and Development Sandra Cottam-Shea, aims to remind dog owners that picking up after their pets isn’t optional, it’s part of being a decent human (and neighbour).

Sandra said: ‘I am pleased to support this important campaign which encourages responsible dog ownership in Ramsey.

‘It’s not the most glamorous topic, but it’s one that really matters to Ramsey Town Commissioners.

‘This is such an important campaign for our community, and picking up after our dogs shows we take pride in where we live.’

The Commissioners are asking residents to help tackle the problem the right way, by reporting incidents directly to the Town Hall instead of venting on social media.

If you spot dog fouling around town, you can ring 810100 (option 3) to reach the Technical Department. They’ll pass it on to the Enforcement Team, who can then take action.

When reporting, try to include useful details like the location, date, time, and if possible, a description of the dog or its owner.

All reports are handled confidentially, so no need to worry about outing yourself as the local dog poo detective.

The Commissioners say a big thank you to the many residents and visitors who do clean up after their dogs, and are asking everyone else to do the same.

Because, as they put it: ‘The Dog Poo Fairy might be on holiday, but together, we can make a big difference… one bag at a time.’
