Muck Yeah, It’s Back…

Isle Listen has announced the return of its Tough Mucka obstacle event, which will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, with Conister Bank confirmed as headline partner for this year’s challenge.

Now in its fourth year, Tough Mucka has become a firm fixture in the island’s fundraising calendar, bringing together individuals, families and teams to take on a physically and mentally demanding obstacle course designed to test resilience, teamwork and determination.

The event plays a key role in supporting Isle Listen’s work delivering its preventative mental health education programme for young people across the Isle of Man, which reaches more than 10,000 children and young people annually through engagement with schools and UCM.

This year’s event will feature a refreshed format, including new 10km and 5km adult routes, replacing the previous longer distances, alongside a dedicated 2km course for younger participants.

Organisers say changes have also been made to improve the overall event experience, with a more inclusive layout designed to encourage spectators to remain engaged throughout the day.

New obstacles will be introduced across the course, with opportunities for community groups and businesses to sponsor individual challenges.

Isle Listen has also been working closely with the farming community to strengthen relationships with landowners and ensure the event continues to run smoothly across rural sites.

Steven Downward, Fundraising Lead at Isle Listen, said the team was pleased to be launching Tough Mucka #4 alongside its wider ‘Take Action’ campaign for Mental Health Awareness Month.

‘With the incredible support of Conister Bank sponsoring the event this year, we are able to build on the foundations of a brilliant existing event. Special thanks go to the farmers and landowners for their continued support’, he said.

He added that feedback from last year had helped shape improvements to the course.

‘We know the local community get excited for this event year on year, and we hope to continually improve.

‘Working on feedback from 2025 we have revamped the course, with shorter routes and more condensed action, hoping for a great day for spectators and entrants alike.’
