Rain Can’t Dampen Scone Fundraiser
The stroll had to be abandoned as the rain decided to put in an appearance right as it was about to begin.
A stroll and scone afternoon has raised £600 for Breast Cancer Now.
The stroll had to be abandoned as the rain decided to put in an appearance right as it was about to begin.
Not to be deterred, the volunteers carried on with a cuppa and some scones.
Angie Tire said on her Facebook page: ‘Just as we set off on our stroll the heavens opened, so we abandoned the walk and just enjoyed a cuppa & strawberry cream scones ! There was such a lovely ‘buzz of chatter’ in the Barn! Thanks to all our supporters for joining us today & those who’ve donated.
‘Huge thanks to Mr & Mrs Clague at SCS for hosting this event once again, our generous sponsors Butlers Choice and Isle of Man Creamery for the dairy produce, we raised a fantastic £600.’
