Signing at Speeds Approaching 100 Books an Hour
You can buy Derry’s book from book stores across the island
Queen’s Pier Restoration Trust welcomed the Purple Helmets over the weekend as the iconic Derry Kissack was selling signed copies of his book.
The story of the world famous Purple Helmets ‘At Speeds Approach 100mph’ is on sale at Bridge Bookstore, DUKE Marketing, The Book Company in Castle Street and Victory Cafe.
On Sunday, Derry and the (now retired) Helmets headed down to the Pier where he signed free copies.
The trust said: ‘We had a good gathering of people with lots of laughter & banter with Derry as he signed his new book for them. We have had push bikes, wheelchairs & mobility scooters and now we can add motorbikes BUT ONLY from the World famous Purple Helmets.’
Sadly, no doughnuts were allowed on the pier.
The profits from Derry’s book are being donated to Hospice Isle of Man and the Queens Pier Restoration Trust.
