Flights and Boats Cancelled as Storm Kathleen Hits

There will be no orange planes over King Bill’s today as easyJet has cancelled all of its flights to and from the island.

With Storm Kathleen due to cook up a right hoolie, there are yellow and amber weather warnings in place for rain and gales plus coastal overtopping.
The gales will develop this morning with winds of up to 60mph.

As we said, there are no easyJet flights, plus the Dublin flight has been cancelled too.
Pretty much everything is cancelled at the airport now, but Loganair is holding out hope for its 5.30pm flight to Manchester

Howveer, as there is some coastal overtopping due around high tide at 10.25am, there is likely to be significant amounts of debris onto exposed locations, namely Castletown promenade, Shore Road (Gansey) and Douglas promenade, and to a lesser extent Ramsey and Laxey Promenades, so be careful and try not to win any Darwin Awards.
