The sale of Cornelly House is being handled by Chrystals on behalf of a deceased estate.
Coming with four acres of land, the sale is for unconditional cash buyers only and the house is listed as ‘sold as seen, including all vehicles, contents and rubbish on/in the house and land’.
Chrystals said: ‘Mains electricity is available but has been disconnected. There is no mains water available in the area and a private method of supply will need to be established. A new private drainage system (septic tank) will need to be installed.’
The house was once home to William Kitto, a Cornish man who moved to the island in the late 19th century to manage the Foxdale mines, he was also a vice-chairman of the Steam Packet, director of Isle of Man Railway and an MHK, he was also widely praised for his courage in the recovery operation during the Snaefell Mine disaster.
