Friday Night Roads Closures
The DoI will be out gritting in the early hours.
Police have shut a number of roads across the island as the cold weather sets in.
The Sloc is shut between Ballakillowey and the Round Table due to the inclement weather.
The Constabulary is also shutting the Tholt-y-will road following the report of vehicles stuck and the Mountain Road due to black ice.
Take extra care, the roads are slippy.
Buses
Due to slippery road conditions, buses are currently unable to serve the following areas:
Pulrose Crescents (services running as normal on Alder Rd & Springfield Rd)
Snaefell Rd & Tynwald Rd Willaston (services are diverting via Johnny Watterson Lane to St Ninians – services via Keppel Rd towards Onchan running as normal)
Gritting
Earlier the DoI said it is due to grit the following roads will be gritted from 5.30am Saturday morning:
A1 Douglas to Peel
A3 Foxdale to Kirk Michael
A2 Ramsey to Onchan Coast Road
A5 Fort North roundabout to Ronaldsway Airport
A24 Fort North to Foxdale (Cooil Road & Foxdale Road)
A18 Mountain Road
The DoI’s duty officer will re-assess the need for any further work as the weekend progresses.
