Gef the Halls: A Competition for the Island’s Best Lights Display

The nights are quickly drawing in and islanders will soon turn their homes into holiday havens that could give the North Pole a run for its money. Expect extravagant displays, Santas the size of small islands and more miles of LED lights than you can shake a candy cane at.

To celebrate this, we want to find the island’s best festive house display. The judging panel, fortified by a sleigh-load of cocoa, will pick three finalists before the Great Manx Public vote helps us crown the winner.

As if that wasn’t enough, we have teamed up with the elves at Manx Telecom to bring you an extra special reason to celebrate the holiday season, our winner will receive a free present from MT up to the value of £299!

It’s time to “Gef the Halls” and celebrate the Christmas spirit.

To submit your entry, send us a picture of your display, as well as your name, phone number and the area you live in by Saturday December 16. If you are one of our three finalists, Gef’s band of little helpers will be in touch on Monday December 18.

The boring bit: You MUST be available on the evening of Wednesday December 20 as we will be doing the prize presentation to the winner, with a picture and video outside the winning home. Our three finalists will also have their Christmas displays shown on Gef.im and social media pages, and the winner will also be featured in the Isle of Man Courier. The closing date is 12pm on Friday December 15.
