Hawkins BBQ Bids Farewell To The Isle of Man

Sad news for all you barbecue lovers – Hawkins BBQ is leaving the Isle of Man.

After three sizzling years of serving up smoky goodness and becoming a staple at events across the island, owners Matt and Charlie have announced they’re packing up their smoker and heading off on a new adventure.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, the duo shared: ‘After an incredible 3 years here on the Isle of Man, the time has come for Hawkins BBQ to pack up our smoker and embark on a new adventure!

‘From starting out in our small kitchen in 2022 to serving from our food truck at the island’s biggest events, your love and support have helped us grow beyond our wildest dreams!’

The Masters of Manx BBQ (and Seagull Insurance)

Hawkins BBQ wasn’t just about epic pulled pork and brisket – they were problem solvers too.

Remember the seagull insurance? Back in August, they offered customers the chance to pay £1 for the reassurance that if a cheeky gull swooped in and pinched their lunch, they’d get a replacement at no extra cost. Truly iconic.

It’s believed to be the first scheme of its kind on the island, and honestly, it’s a legacy worth bragging about.

So, What’s Next?

While Hawkins BBQ is leaving, it’s not goodbye forever. Their post continued: ‘We’ll definitely be back, as the island will always hold a special place in our hearts. It’s not goodbye, only see you soon!’

Matt and Charlie are off to spread their BBQ brilliance to new audiences, but they’re keeping the details of their next steps under wraps for now. All we know is, wherever they’re headed, they’re sure to be a hit.
