Ideal Chance to Grab a Great Gift

Laxey’s Christmas Market is returning this month, providing a great opportunity to pick up some amazing presents.

The market is in its 12th year and was attended by well over 1,000 people last year.

Having grown from a small village fair into a major Christmas attraction spread across four venues in the village, including the Working Men’s Institute, Laxey Station, Christ Church, and the Glen Pavilion, it is one of, if not the, biggest community event in the village.

Entrance to this year’s Market is just £1 with tickets being valid for both days. There will be different stalls on each day so it really will be worth heading down on both Saturday and Sunday.

Organisers said: ‘Sunday morning is often slightly quieter so if you or a relative needs to take a bit more time to get about then the Sunday morning may suit you better.’

The Institute is fully accessible, with disabled parking to the rear of the building being accessed from Church Hill. General parking will be on the MER station with drivers being asked to follow the instructions of the car park team, however, if you get the bus, you an benefit from half priced entry on display of your ticket.

As well as a huge number of Christmas craft stalls there will be plenty to eat and drink, games to play and superb raffle with prizes donated by all the stallholders.

As if that wasn’t enough, the Big Man himself, Father Christmas, has accepted his invitation to this year’s Market and he’s looking forward to meeting as many children as he can.

The market is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Laxey Working Men’s Institute, which serves as the focal point of the Market.  The Institute is a Manx registered charity that is entirely run by volunteers who keep the wonderful community facility going throughout the year.
