Jamie’s Incredibly Proud of Drew

Bar owner Jamie Lewis has praised his general manager after he won a global cocktail competition.

Drew Fleming, GM and bartender at ‘KiKi Lounge’ was announced as the winner of global cocktail competition: ’50 Best Bars The Blend Scholarship 2022’.

Drew’s win was announced at the annual ‘World’s 50 Best Bars’ awards ceremony in Barcelona on Tuesday. Drew said: ‘I still can’t quite believe it, to even be a guest at such an important event for our industry is insane, let alone the win!’

After his win, Drew will now undertake a three month internship in two of the world’s most renowned bars: the legendary Connaught Bar in London, named The World’s Best Bar in 2021 and 2020 and Katana Kitten in New York, he will also be hosted by competition sponsor ‘Beam Suntory’ for the experience of a lifetime in Madrid, Spain.

Jamie Lewis, who was in attendance at the awards with Drew said: ‘I’m rather uncharacteristically speechless. I am so incredibly proud of Drew for winning such a prestigious competition; I never doubted him for a second. His passion for our industry and our island is truly second to none, last night was a real ‘proud dad’ moment for me.’

When asked about his future plans, Drew said: ‘I am laser focused on earning KiKi’s and the Isle of Man a spot in that Top 50 listing, how incredible would that be?!’
