What Lurks Below Injerbrek?

Manx National Heritage is holding a talk on what lies below the water of one of the island’s reservoirs.
Every year when there’s a bit of a dry spell and the water levels drop in Injerbrek (West Baldwin) reservoir, the same stories emerged of a lost village.
That is going a little too far, there was no village, but there was two smallholdings, where families lives and worked.
The Victorian Society Annual Lecture, hosted by Bob Stimpson, will dive below the surface and explore the lives and activities of the residents of Ulican and Ballaleney.
MNH said: ‘A look at lives and activities of the residents of Ulican and Ballaleney, the two smallholdings now below West Baldwin reservoir. Details of some of their farming and social activities, together with information on the route and few remaining fragments of the now lost railway which ran from Hillberry to West Baldwin which was created just to build the reservoir.’
The talk is on October 29, doors open at 2pm for 2.30pm start. Oh and it’s FREE!
