Last Orders: Angela’s Last Pour at Crosby Tonight

After five unforgettable years at the helm of the Crosby Pub Hotel, Angela Davies is pulling her final pint tonight, and let’s just say it’s the end of an era in Marown.

Angela, who took over just before the chaos of COVID-19, has seen it all – navigating the pub through a global pandemic, turning the restaurant into a temporary Spar shop, and providing takeaway meals when times were tough.

‘We never could have predicted what was coming when I first took over’, she said, reflecting on the rollercoaster journey.

‘But we pulled through with the support of this amazing community’.

Under her leadership, the Crosby Pub became more than just a watering hole; it became a lifeline for locals, a place of laughter, and yes, a few emotional moments too.

‘I want to thank each and every one of you for your friendship and support over the years. We’ve had such laughs as well as shed a few tears. I’ll miss you all.’ Angela said.

Staffing challenges weren’t easy, but Angela’s perseverance and the dedication of her team kept the place running.

‘It’s not been an easy ride as we’ve seen the decline in recruiting team members, but we got through it and had an amazing team over the years. I couldn’t have done it without them’, she said.

As Angela clocks out tonight for the last time, daughter Cara and bartender Dan will be by her side, likely toasting to the future with something stronger than a lemonade.

And of course, Max will also be saying his goodbyes – although, in true cat fashion, we suspect he’ll do so by napping through the entire event.

Looking ahead, Angela is ready for her next chapter, as the new manager of Barbary North Coast.

The restaurant is set to open later this month in Market Place, Ramsey.

As the regular crowd shuffles in (Billy Joel reference), and the last pints are poured tonight, one thing is certain: the Crosby Pub won’t be the same without Angela behind the bar.

I mean who’s going to tell the rowdy Marown footballers off now?
