Laxey Sailing Club Forced to Close After Flooding

Laxey Sailing Club has unfortunately flooded.

Based on Tent Road in Laxey, the club shared an update on social media explaining that the decision was made so everything can be properly cleaned, dried and checked for safety.

Posting alongside photos of the latest soggy situation, the club said: ‘As you can see from the photos below, the club has unfortunately flooded again. Because of this, we’ve made the decision to keep the club closed this Friday while everything is properly cleaned, dried out, and checked for safety.’

Despite the setback, the club thanked those who have already stepped in to help deal with the mess, adding: ‘Huge thank you to everyone who has already rolled their sleeves up to help, we genuinely appreciate it.”

Members and visitors have been promised further updates, with the club joking it is continuing its ‘ongoing battle with unwanted indoor swimming.’
