McCrisis as Maccies To Shut for £1.6m Glow-Up
The Isle of Man’s only McDonald’s is about to close for a £1.6m refurb that’ll bring in 20 new jobs, a bigger kitchen, and fancier kiosks.
While it might be good news in the long run, in the short term… absolute carnage.
From September 22 until October 30, the island will be without McDonald’s entirely – yes, including half-term week.
Children are reportedly weeping, while several grown adults have been spotted crying into their nuggets and demanding a pop-up Maccies be opened elsewhere ‘for the good of the community’.
The revamp is part of McDonald’s grand ‘Convenience of the Future’ plan, promising a slicker design, speedier service, and even comfier staff rooms.
Gef can confirm this is not, in fact, the end of civilisation as we know it.
While we wait for the golden arches to rise again, maybe consider trying a bit of Manx produce?
A pasty, some chips from the chippy, or even a locally reared burger – who knows, you might even like it.
