Morning Momentum

Morning Momentum continue to make their mark within the island’s health and wellness sector.

Since 2021 they have been inspiring and inviting people from all walks of life to join them first thing in the morning for a spot of fitness, a sea dip and a natter. The evolution of Morning Momentum has been one of positivity, perseverance and strength.

On Monday, March 17, Morning Momentum are starting a 28-day challenge.

Ending on April 13, Morning Momentum’s four team leaders will lead an activity each morning for 28 consecutive days.

Situated throughout the north, south and east of the island – the different groups will meet primarily at 6am each morning for runs, walks and sea dips. Saturdays will be dedicated to having all three groups meet in one location, where everyone will take part in a morning of fun together.

Elliot Cureton, who has been part of the group since the beginning, described the formula they use as: Early rise, exercise or movement, cold water exposure and community. These are the four pillars Morning Momentum use collectively all over the island to kickstart their day.

Morning Momentum welcomes everyone, regardless of age, level, or interest—whether you’re aiming to complete the full 28 days, joining in when you can, running or walking daily, or even if you’re not interested in the sea/river dips.

Each group will have its own rota, released every Sunday with the following week’s information.

One of the leaders for the north group, Mikey Howland, said: ‘Expect 28 days of early starts, daily movement and some cold water. Does that sound daunting? Now envisage doing it with a supportive, inclusive, family-like community.’

‘Beautiful sunrises, lots of laughs, even more personal achievements and the building of lifetime bonds. The MM28 day challenge is the perfect time to join as we are growing fast!’

To sign yourself up for the 28-day challenge all you need to do is message the group’s Facebook page saying ‘Let’s Go!’.

You will then receive a link to the WhatsApp group, or one of the team will provide more information.
