Nelson’s Famous!

Shire Nelson, one of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway’s finest, has gone properly viral, racking up 1.2 million+ views on Facebook and galloping his way into online fame.

The video, posted by the tramway, shows Nelson—born in Maughold in 2014 and standing at an impressive 15.3 hands tall—pulling horse tram car 45 like an absolute pro.

Filmed as the team prepped for a busy summer, it turns out the world can’t get enough of a big, handsome horse doing his thing.

Nelson, a firm family favourite, will be back in action on the prom from April 3rd for the 2025 season (yes, still just half of it!).
