When 2022 is done and 2023 rolls around there will be a new parish on the island, Ramsey and the North-East.

The new parish will be created by merging existing northern parishes and could be seen as indicating towards a lessening of the Church of England’s role in Manx life.

To create the new parish, the parishes of Bride, Lezayre and North Ramsey and of Maughold and South Ramsey, would be united to form Ramsey and the North-East.

Reverend Lynn Davidson is, according to the Tynwald order paper, to carry on with the united benefice, in effect meaning she’ll be the vicar.

The change is due to come into effect on January 1 2023.
