Peel’s Aimee Ford Crowned Wedding Cake Artist of the Year

Peel’s very own cake superstar, Aimee Ford, has done it again, taking home Wedding Cake Artist of the Year at the Cake International Awards 2025 in Birmingham on November 1.

It’s only been eight months since Gef last wrote about Aimee scooping the Flawless Finish title at the DMA Cake Awards at Allington Castle in Kent.

But the island’s globally recognised cake artist clearly isn’t slowing down, she’s now back in the spotlight with another major win to add to her ever-growing collection.

Sharing her excitement online, Aimee said: ‘Thank you to everyone who has ever believed in me, this means so, so much!

‘I’m just a gal from the tiny Isle of Man trying to make her mark on the world.

‘Never could I have dreamed that I’d win an award like this. The one time I’ve been genuinely speechless and shaking like a leaf – but I didn’t drop it!!!’

She also gave a shout-out to her fellow finalists, saying: ‘Huge congratulations to my fellow gals – you’re all an inspiration and I love you all so very much!’

With over 13 years of experience, Aimee’s work blends modern art, fashion and design into edible masterpieces that have earned her a global following.

Earlier this year, she was picked from 11,500 nominees worldwide to reach the DMA Awards shortlist, representing the Isle of Man against finalists from the USA, Dubai and Iraq.

Aimee has also taught and judged at major international competitions, from Cake International to Cake Art Bulgaria, and even remotely in Brisbane, Australia.

Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, she’s launched her own cake-making product line too. ]

Not bad for ‘a gal from the tiny Isle of Man’.
