The White House pub in Peel has paid tribute to a regular who died this week.

Geoff Hughes has been named locally as the pedestrian involved in the collision on Friday evening on Albany Road.

Mr Hughes was a regular face in the pub and would be spotted drinking bottled Guinness.

In a post on Facebook, the pub said ‘Sleep well Geoff. RIP fella’ and posted a picture of a bottle of Guinness sitting alone on a table.

A sidecar competitor, Mr Hughes partnered former TT winner Heinz Luthringshauser in the heyday of the European sidecar scene, with the pair securing a podium finish.
