November’s Most Read
As ever, thanks for your support and here’s to a great December.
The final day of the eleventh month is here, advent calendars have been bought, police vehicle checks have been dodged and Man Utd look set to crash out the Champions League.
But before we leave November behind, here’s what’s been making the news this month.
There’s no real surprise here as Gef broke the news that Barclays would be making redundancies on the island, this was by far and away our most read article this month.
A crash right outside Sam’s house was the second most read as central Onchan was brought to a standstill by a crash involving two cars, we haven’t had any updates on this one but we hope all involved only had minor injuries.
Another Gef exclusive this one as our bid to have the (still) long await SYSTRA report released under FoI failed, but we did get some emails which discussed the future of the MER beyond Laxey.
We couldn’t get through a month without the Steam Packet appearing near the top of the list and the Manxman’s intended sailing dates to Liverpool had many excited, until people realised they are actually no good for a Christmas shopping day trip.
Coming in at number five was another Steam Packet story as it was revealed in Keys that the Manxman’s passengers number are limited during the winter, even though that limitation is still for more passengers than have been carried on any winter sailing in recent years.
People are yet to really warm to the Manxman, sure they like it onboard, but the gov mandated ship has had more than her share of teething problems that caused headaches for everyone involved.
