Scallops, Sparks and Soups: Gef’s Guide To Public Firework Displays

Published

on

Listen up, pyromaniacs and hotdog enthusiasts – Gef has done the legwork (well, finger work) to round up all the best public firework and bonfire displays across the island.

From strategic scallop-season planning in Peel to soup-fuelled shenanigans in Maughold, we’ve got the lowdown on where to find the biggest bangs, brightest sparklers, and tastiest snacks.

So grab your hats, wrap up warm, and get ready to ooh and aah this bonfire season…

Peel Goes Boom (Tonight!)

Peel Town Commissioners are getting the bonfire party started early this year on Friday, October 25 (that’s tonight, folks!).

The fireworks are lighting up the skies from 7:30pm.

They’re ahead of the curve, avoiding the scallop season rush on the outer breakwater.

Smart move, Peel. Gef loves a bit of strategic planning.

The Big One – Douglas Fireworks

Douglas is bringing the BOOM to Bonfire Night, sponsored by Celton Manx.

Head down to Douglas Beach on Tuesday, November 5th, for fireworks at 7:30pm.

If you fancy staying toasty in your car, Manx Radio’s got the tunes to match.

Plus, don’t miss the Best Guy Competition at 7pm.

Maughold Does Bonfires Like Its 1850

On Saturday, November 2nd, Maughold Parish Social Club is throwing it back to the good ol’ days with a proper bonfire at Dhoon Church Field.

Get there for 6:30pm to witness the lighting of the big bonnie, followed by a stellar firework display at 7pm.

Hotdogs and soup on tap for £1.50—bargain of the year.

Ramsey’s Mooragh Park Fiesta

Ramsey Town Commissioners are back with their crowd-favourite display on Saturday, November 2nd at 7:30pm.

Mooragh Park’s about to get lit (sorry).

Get your cameras ready for those insta-worthy moments of sparkly goodness.

Bacchas Bonanza – Hockey & Hotdogs

Bacchas Hockey Club is hosting a bonfire night and firework fiesta on Saturday, November 2nd at 6pm.

Held at Cronkbourne Cricket Club in Tromode, it’s £5 a head, which covers your entry and some grub.

Bring cash, bring your mates, and bring a blanket – it’s bound to be a banger.
