School Buses Tickets to Rise
Figures have been outlined in this year’s Budget
School bus fares look set to increase by 25%, as set out in this year’s Budget.
Figures have been outlined in this year’s Budget alongside other increased ticket prices.
Currently set at 40p, prices would rise to 50p per journey, with the cost of sending a child to school rising from £4 a week to £5.
Elsewhere the gov is proposing to increase the price of Go Saver Cards by between 6.3% and 25%.
This would see a three day pass rise to £17, a five day pass rising to £23 and seven day passes rising to £28.
The bus aren’t the only area affected, rail fares also due to the rise, some by up to 61%.
A one day go explorer card will remain at £17, but three day tickets will rise by 14.7% to £39, a five day ticket is due to go up 9.8% to £45 and a seven day ticket 12% to £56.
On the steam railway, the cheapest fare will be £5, a 61.3% increase on the previous band one fare of £3.10, a full journey the full length of the line will also rise from £6.70 to £9, an increase of 34.3%.
The MER is also set to see prices rise, with the cheapest fare to be £3, which is up 11.1% on 2022 and a journey from one end to the other will rise from £6.70 to £7. All prices for the Snaefell Mountain Railway look set to increase by 50p.
