Tinsel, Tractors And Tunes Return!

Published

on

It’s time to get into the Christmas spirit folks, as the Isle of Man Young Farmers Christmas Tractor Run 2024 is nearly here!

The island’s favourite holiday event returns for two big nights of tractor-fueled joy, so grab a thermos of hot choc, wrap yourself in lights, and get ready to cheer on the convoy!

When And Where to Find The Tractors

This year they’re rolling out on Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7.

These aren’t just any tractors, though—they’re lit with enough Christmas cheer to make the North Pole look dim by comparison.

Friday, December 6 – The South Route

The action kicks off in Port Erin, with tractors assembling on Church Road at 4:30 pm, then setting off on their merry way at 6:20 pm. Here’s the lowdown:

  • First, it’s off to Bridson Street and Station Road, then onto Castletown Road, where the tractors will sparkle all the way to Castletown Square by around 7pm.
  • From there, they head up Ballamodha to Foxdale and through St John’s before parading down Crosby and Union Mills, eventually cruising into Douglas and finishing at the Grandstand. Santa’s got nothing on these guys!

Saturday, December 7 – The Main Route

Round two starts a little earlier, with tractors meeting up on Shore Road and East Quay in Peel from 4pm, rolling out at 5.30pm.

  • They’ll take the coast road up to Kirk Michael, TT-course their way to Ramsey, and hit Market Square by 7pm. Then it’s down the coast, through Laxey and Onchan, before wrapping up at the Grandstand in Douglas around 9:15 pm. Jingle all the way!

Who’s Getting The Holiday Love?

This year, the Young Farmers are raising funds for The Children’s Centre Community Farm and The Great North Air Ambulance Service.

So every cheer, wave, and coin dropped into a donation bucket is supporting these fab causes!

Why You Shouldn’t Miss It!

This is more than just a tractor parade; it’s like Santa’s workshop on wheels meets a Manx road trip with glitter, lights, and holiday tunes blaring.

Get out there and soak in the holiday magic!

Whether you’re 5 or 95, the Christmas Tractor Run is guaranteed to put a twinkle in your eye and maybe, just maybe, a jolly ho-ho-ho in your heart.
