Arrest After Burglary

Police are asking people to check if their vehicles have been tampered with after a man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

The Police received a report of a burglary at a property in Stevenson Court, Douglas at about 5am on Thursday morning.

As a result of the initial enquiries a man has been arrested in connection with the investigation.

A statement said: ‘We are continuing with a number of enquiries as we believe some insecure vehicles parked in the vicinity of Stevenson Court, Douglas may have been entered and items either moved or stolen within.

‘Officers have been in the area today conducting House to House and CCTV enquiries but we are asking the public to assist us by checking their own vehicles to establish if they have been tampered with or whether any items have been removed.

‘We are also asking any members of the public who have yet to be spoken to by Police to check their doorbell or dash cam footage as well as being vigilant to any items which may seem out of place or discarded in the area.
