Cops are a Ton-up
Simple checks such as lights and tyres can help drivers to avoid being pulled over.
This year’s roadside vehicle checks have seen over 100 Vehicle Defect Notices being issued to drivers.
The Police carry out the checks on vehicles across the island as part of their campaign to reduce crashes in the winter months.
The Roads Policing Unit said that simple checks such as lights and tyres can help drivers to avoid being pulled over.
It said: ‘We have been pushing with vehicle defect notices over the last month or so on the run up to the dark nights to ensure everyone driving is as safe as they can be, leading to a reduction in defective vehicles and more importantly, to the removal of vehicles which should not be on the road. This month alone has seen over 100 Vehicle Defect Notices being issued to drivers.’
