A tri-lateral operation between emergency services saved a person’s life on Friday afternoon.

During yesterday’s Supersport and Supertwin qualifying session, a person in Glen Vine, a short distance from the course, suffered a cardiac arrest

Following a 999 call, details were relayed to the emergency service representatives in Race Control, who set in motion life saving treatment.

TT organisers said: ‘The Race Control team were able to coordinate a response that utilised the Manx Roadracing Medical Services and two of their rapid response vehicles close to the scene, the Isle of Man Ambulance Service, as well as the Great North Air Ambulance Service, to provide life-saving intervention for the individual, who was then flown directly to Liverpool for further hospital treatment.

‘This tri-lateral cooperation, coordinated from a remote location and undertaken without disrupting an active qualifying session, was a first for the three services and was only possible thanks to the expertise and rigorous training of everyone involved, and is testament to the world-class care delivered as part of the Isle of Man TT Races.’
