All You Need to Know Ahead of MiniFest

Start your engines – but make sure they’re small ones – because MiniFest is rolling into the island this weekend as part of the ever-growing Isle of Man Festival of Motoring.

It’s the first time the festival has dedicated a whole event to one of the most iconic little cars on the planet.

From classic Coopers to sporty modern builds, Minis of all shapes and sizes have already started appearing in car parks, on ferries and all over Manx social media.

MiniFest is one of three new additions to the festival’s calendar this year, joining the Classic & Sports Car Weekend (also taking place in May) and FordFest (coming to a roundabout near you in September).

Since it launched in 2021, the Festival of Motoring has become a bit of a petrolhead’s paradise.

Organisers say they’ve been floored by the level of interest and have added more themed weekends to keep up with the demand – and the Minis are first up.

The festivities kick off across the bank holiday weekend, running from Friday, May 2 to Monday, May 5.

The Mini convoy will be popping up at various spots around the island, so keep your eyes peeled (and your camera ready) if you’re out and about.

On Saturday, May 4, Minis will be lining up in style by Peel Castle from midday to 2pm.

Then on Sunday, May 5, they’ll be heading north to the Isle of Man Motor Museum in Jurby from 10am until 1pm, before finishing the weekend at the TT Grandstand Pitlanes from 2pm to 5pm.

The organisers say they’re ‘very excited’ to get the wheels turning on MiniFest, and with sunny skies and a long weekend on the cards, it’s shaping up to be a real highlight of the Manx motoring calendar.
