Hello Little People and the Solidarity Ticket Scheme

Hello Little People has announce the return of the Solidarity Ticket Scheme, making 130 free tickets available.

This Christmas, the professional children’s theatre company will bring the original pantomime ‘Dick Whittington and the Manx Cat’ to Port St Mary Town Hall from December 22 to December 30.

The Solidarity Ticket Scheme aims to enable families and children who have experienced financial or personal hardships to experience the joy of family theatre this Christmas.

With support from the Manx Benevolent Fund and the Keith Jones Foundation, free tickets will be distributed across local charities, schools and are available for the general public to request.

With a short no-questions-asked form, anyone who feels they would benefit from free tickets is encouraged to apply.

The initiative was launched by Hello Little People in 2021 in a bid to make theatre more accessible and support those struggling at Christmas, with ticket previously being provided to the Salvation Army, Crossroads Caring for Carers, Rebecca House and Isle of Man Foodbank.

Chloe Shimmin, joint Artistic Director of Hello Little People said: ‘With Christmas being an exceptionally demanding time for many, we run the Solidarity Ticket Scheme to provide families with the opportunity to share a glorious family Christmas experience for free. A huge thanks to the Keith Jones Foundation and Manx Benevolent Fund for their support, without whom we could not continue to run this initiative. ”

Dick Whittington and the Manx Cat is created and performed by theatre-makers Chloe Shimmin and Michelle Jamieson.

One-hour long and Manx inspired, the show is perfect for all ages. Regular tickets are priced at £12.00 each.

The shows run at 11am and 2pm daily, except Christmas Day.
