Millennials to Reclaim Their Rightful Place on The (Sticky) Dancefloor

In news guaranteed to make every millennial immediately smell Cheeky Vimto and regret, a group of heroic locals have decided enough is enough: if the Isle of Man won’t give them nightlife, they’ll resurrect it themselves.

Yes, The Outback, the island’s longest-running nightclub (somehow?!) and spiritual home of anyone who spent the 2000s smelling faintly of Dream Matte Mousse, is hosting a one-off daytime disco reunion just before Christmas.

A group of locals who’ve spent years moaning about the island’s nightlife have decided to take matters into their own slightly-older hands, hiring the OB for a full-blown ‘Back to The Outback – Xmas Daytime Disco Reunion’ on Saturday 20 December, 4–9pm.

It’s the ultimate nostalgia trip for anyone who survived the 2000s and 2010s Outback era.

Expect all the classics you pretended to hate but secretly loved: Basshunter, Heartbroken, Apple Bottom Jeans, Pitbull, Sandstorm, Usher, Levels, Teenage Dirtbag, basically the soundtrack to your messy fringe, Dream Matte Mousse and questionable outfit choices phase.

The organisers say it’s a chance for the 30+ crowd to reclaim their rightful place on the dancefloor without the horror of 2am taxis, blackout pints or seeing the sunrise outside Quids Inn.

Daytime disco means you can rave like it’s 2008 and still be home, pyjama’d up and horizontal by 10.

If you grew up on the island, there’s a very strong chance you left a piece of your soul, or at least an item of clothing, in that iconic orange-now-grey building.

Gef still has nightmares of the lights turning on and the sense of regret

So, for one night only, you can go back. The Outback is calling.
