Remember, Remember… The 6th of December?!

Ramsey Town Commissioners have announced that their twice-cancelled, once-rescheduled, briefly-abandoned annual firework display is actually happening this weekend.

After October’s original event was scrapped due to forecast strong winds (classic Manx weather sabotage), and the early November backup dates fell apart thanks to ‘logistical issues’, Ramsey’s fireworks were starting to feel like a myth, something spoken of only in nostalgic tones, like Woolworths in town.

But fear not, Ramsey: the sky above Mooragh Park is finally set to light up on Saturday, December 6, with the display starting at 6pm sharp.

And because the Commissioners aren’t doing anything by halves anymore, the whole thing is 80s themed.

A spokesperson for Ramsey Town Commissioners confirmed the great comeback, saying: ‘Ramsey Town Commissioners invite you to their rescheduled 2025 Firework Display in the Mooragh Park.

‘This new date for the display is Saturday 6th December 2025. The display will be at 6pm.

‘The music theme for the display this year is 80’s.’

They added that updates will be posted as the event approaches, presumably unless the weather decides to recreate the Great Storm Eowyn of January 2025.

So, third time lucky.
