What is the last thing you expect to see when taking the dogs out for walkies?

Times up, I’m willing to be none of you said a wallaby bouncing down the road.

However, that is exactly what one Kirk Michael resident saw last night when she was out for an evening walk with her dogs.

Carole Wylde spotted the marsupial in Faaie Ny Cabbal just chilling in the middle of the road before it hopped off on its merry way.

She told Gef: ‘We were walking the dogs and he/she was just standing there, Someone did take a pic of one that morning at the entrance and it was just surreal that we got to see it so close up.’

Carole said that it was the first time she’s seen a wallaby up close, but we somehow doubt it will be something she forgets in a hurry.
