New Fish Found in Manx Waters

Manx Wildlife Trust says one of its volunteers has identified a new fishy visitor to Manx waters.
Jon Russell-Dunn identified the Small Headed Clingfish in Douglas Bay in 2022.
Appropriate for its name, MWT said the Small Headed Clingfish only grows up to about 4cm.
It said: They have only been recorded 3 times in Ireland and are predominantly found in the south of the UK. Due to their small size and the possible confusion with their more common cousin the Two-Spotted Clingfish (Diplecogaster bimaculata bimaculate) they could be underreported.
‘However, their presence could also be a result of climate change.’
