Park’s Education Manager Nominated for Zoo Gong
The park’s education manager, Liz has worked at Curraghs for over 20 years
Curraghs Wildlife Park’s Liz Brunswick has been nominated for a top industry award.
Liz has been nominated for the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ woman of the year award.
The park’s education manager, Liz has worked at Curraghs for over 20 years and now oversees a team of more than 40 volunteers, as well as running the interpretation and graphics.
Alongside this, Liz is also involved vital tasks involved with running the park, like overseeing the shop, digital ticketing, and duty management.
Liz built the Park’s conservation education program from scratch, and her ‘colour me wild’ workshop won a BIAZA award and is still very popular with schools and in her time, she is though to have taught in every school on the Isle of Man, tirelessly engaging and inspiring the island’s kids.
Her nominator wrote: ‘Liz is one of the most conscientious, hardworking people I have had the pleasure of working with – to say she goes the extra mile would be an understatement.’
They also mentioned she makes a ‘fabulous chocolate cake’.
The park responded by saying Liz’s nomination is ‘very well deserved’.
