Transport delays and cancellations, windy and coastal overtopping, we’ll be updating this through the day as the lovely Storm Debi (McGee) hits the island.

Weather

A warning is in place until 3pm this afternoon for heavy rain, severe gales and costal overtopping.

The strongest gales are due to be between now and midday with gusts of between 60mph and 70mph, with a risk of 80mph gusts in places.

Large waves will break over exposed coastal locations for an hour or two either side of high tide (approx. 11 am), leaving debris.

Transport

Manxman sailing to Heysham is cancelled, as is the return sailing this afternoon.

All flights this morning have either been delayed or cancelled, with the easyJet flight to Liverpool the exception.
