Warmest October Night Record Broken

Temperatures during October were above average, with a mean daily maximum of 14.5°C; about 0.7°C above average.

Colin Gartshore from Ronaldsway Met Office has released the figures for the month which saw one night with ground frost.

Throughout October, the nights were mild, with no air frosts, and a mean minimum of 10.2°C; 1.0°C above average while the overnight minimum of 15.7°C on the morning of October 6 was the warmest October night on record at Ronaldsway – half a degree above the previous record from October 8 2021.

The warmest day was the October 1, which saw 18.1°C record.

Rainfall was also higher than average – 120mm was collected in the gauge with the wettest day being October 20 with 32.0mm from Storm Babet.

There were 2 days with fog, 1 with hail and only 1 night with a ground frost.
